Portfolio

I am a multi-platform journalist and work as a reporter, producer and sub-editor.

After graduating with a BA in Journalism from Dublin City University in 2008, I began my career at the BBC in Belfast, where I worked for five years before leaving to travel.

I have since worked for ABC in Northern Territory, Australia and The Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh.

Please find below a cross-section of my work in broadcast and feature-writing.

  • Sutherland has lofty ambitions, BBC, 2008 – A year before the devastating death of Darren Sutherland, I spoke to the former Olympian about his dreams as a professional boxer. Having met him several times prior to that when we were both students at DCU, I found him to be not only an incredibly disciplined and inspirational figure, but a gentleman. His memory lives on in many people.
  • Devine is all Harte, Evening Herald, 2009 – The highs and lows of Gaelic football, from the perspective of former Tyrone ‘keeper John Divine.
  • To Wed or to Win? BBC, 2012 – There just aren’t enough hours in the day to get married AND go on the nation’s biggest television gameshow, so one Irish bride-to-be had a difficult choice to make…
  • The Fly-In Dentist, ABC, 2014 – How one man came to the rescue of toothache sufferers in a remote Northern Territory mining town.
  • Teen Rodeo Riders, ABC, 2014 – Undeterred by broken bones, two young brothers discuss their rodeo dreams at Noonamah.
